Norseman Gold operates Australia's longest continuously running gold mining operation, having produced over 5.5 million ounces of gold over a period of more than 65 years from its Norseman field located 725km east of Perth, Western Australia.
As at 30 June 2006, the Norseman open pit resources contributed 15 per cent. of the total reserve inventories.
The total resource attributable to the surface deposits is 5.7 million tonnes at an average grade of 2.6g/t for 482,000 ounces of gold. Resources are reported for the following deposits, Cobbler, North Royal, Lady Miller, Andronicus, Buldania Blackbutt, Buldania Teatree, Butterfly, Daisy, Daisy South, Gladstone, Golden Dragon, Kaipoi, Barker, Naracoorte, Chum, Sailfish, Slippers (Pipe), Sontaran and Thumb.
